Originally a two-channel video installation, Sunset Sunrise: Skomvær is a time-lapse of the sun setting and rising in a continuous arc along the horizon during summer in the High Arctic. I recorded this footage through the ground lens windows of the 19th century Skomvær Lighthouse, in the Arctic archipelago of Lofoten/Lofuota in Sápmi (Norway). These are the ancestral lands of the coastal Sami, and I was honored to stay there as a guest of Røst AiR in 2017.
